Diablo 3 has been out for a little over a week now and by now I should have written a post on what I think of it but I’ve been kinda busy, playing Diablo 3. So instead I thought I’d rather put together a solid tutorial on how to get to Diablo 3′s secret level: Whimsyshire. The land of Teddy bears, unicorns and vortex-molten flowers. What do you need Basically how it works is that you craft a staff at the blacksmith that triggers the Cow King from Diablo 2 to come out and welcome you to a whimsical world filled with rainbows and unicorns. Obviously a spoof on Blizzards behalf of the outrage the community had from the leaked screenshots of Diablo 3 earlier in development. To create the staff called “Staff of Herding” you have to acquire 5 items and the recipe for the blacksmith, as well as 50,000 gold. Item #1: Wirt’s Bell Wirt’s bell might be the easiest one but at the same time, it’s the most expensive one. You have to buy it at vendor in Act 2 for 100,000 gold. Seems as the staff only cost 50,000 to make, this does fluctuate the price somewhat but it’s well worth the price of admission. The vendors name is “Squirt the Peddler” and can be found at the Caldeum Bazaar. She is the vendor to the south. Check your map and she’s impossible to miss. Item #2: Black Mushroom The black mushroom is perhaps the easiest of the items to find as it seem to drop for everyone the first time going through normal. It randomly appears in Cathedral level 1 as loot from a clickable mushroom-patch. The easiest way to farm for this is to use the Cathedral Gardens Waypoint and then go down to the Cathedral level 1. Item #3: Liquid Rainbow The liquid rainbow is pretty easy to farm. It’s found in Act 2, in the Oasis. All you need to do is to start a game with one of the later quests in act 2, go to the waypoint called Path to the Oasis and head east near the south wall. You’re looking for an opening to an offshoot that leads to a man that is getting attacked by ghosts. After you kill the ghosts he will open the Mysterious Cave where you can find the Mysterious Chest that contains the Liquid Rainbow. Both the spawning of the cave and the chest is random, so you might find the cave and not the chest. Luckily it’s one of the easier things to grind for. Much easier then the next item. Item #4: Gibbering Gemstone This one was a pain to get. Took me about 1 hour but I’ve heard of people trying to get it for at least 3 hours before it dropped. It’s the same principle as the Liquid Rainbow but now there are 3 variables to the equation. The item can be found in a cave called Caverns of Frost in Fields of Slaughter (Act III, The Bridge of Korsikk is the nearest waypoint). The cavern will as far as I can tell always spawn to the east. When you come out of the waypoint, head east and stay close to the wall and continue until you get to the bridge to the next part. If you haven’t found it by then, quit out and make a new game. Unfortunately there’s another cave that can spawn as well but there’s nothing in there of value and if you find it just quit and make a new game. Inside you’re looking for a purple-named enemy named Chiltara. Chiltara doesn’t always spawn and I’ve heard people finding her on both levels of the cave. This makes it so much more random and if you’re unlucky you might spend hours trying to find it. Item #5: Leoric’s Shinbone The final item is easy to grind. You can find Leoric’s Shinbone in Leoric’s Mansion. Use the waypoint for Leoric’s Mansion and backtrack a little. When you get to the stairs where all the mobs are, go into the door on the right side of stairs and check the fireplace in the back of the room. If you’re able to click the logs in the fireplace, Leoric’s Shinbone will drop. There’s also a checkpoint right there so you can quit the game and remake it really fast, making this one the easiest of the farm-runs that you’ll encounter trying to make the staff.
Item #6: Blacksmith Recipe Now that you got all the materials, you’ll need to teach your blacksmith how to make the staff. For that you need a recipe for it that will drop from the boss Izual (Tyreal’s lieutenant). Unfortunately you have to go a long way to get to him but the recipe seems to drop quite often. You’ll need to go through the Fallen Angel questline to get to him. Crafting and upgrading the staff Now that you got all the items and (hopefully) 50,000 gold you can craft the Staff of Herding. The staff will open the normal difficulty Whimsyshire. To upgrade it to the other difficulties you need some cash and the recipe for them. To upgrade the staff to nightmare and hell you only need the blacksmith recipe and the staff itself. To get the plans you have to be on the final quest on your difficulty of choice and seek out the quartermaster in Bastion’s Keep. He will sell the plans for 1 gold but it costs 200,000 gold for the nightmare staff and 500,000 gold for the hell version. Happy hunting!

As us FIFA players all patiently await the release of our precious next generation, we have to ask an important question. How much could a next generation console, such as the Xbox 720, improve FIFA? I mean it’s not like the graphics need a whole lot of improvement, the engine might need some work but that’s not limited by the Xbox 360, so what changes could we expect from the Xbox 720? Not to mention, putting FIFA on the Xbox 720, we will all have to adjust to a new controller, which sounds like a bit of a headache to be honest. So will FIFA players really benefit from a next generation console? My answer is yes, it will take some adjusting but yes fellow Xbox players, we will benefit from the Xbox 720, or whatever it’s going to be called. Here are some of my reasons as to why we would benefit from the next generation Xbox. Better Graphics Like I said at the beginning of the article, the graphics really don’t need to be improving a whole lot. However, any sort of improvement is always good. FIFA has never really been a graphic intensive game, however with FIFA on the Xbox 720, we could see FIFA move well into the front of the pack in regards to graphics for sports games. Some things that the next generation Xbox 720 could improve on would be stadium detail, and detail of the fans. The detail of the players looks good, but could use some minor improvements. FIFA has done a great job on focusing on the pitch and not adding to stuff outside out of it, I hope they keep it that way when they work on FIFA on the Xbox 720. Improved Engine And Physics Currently the engine that FIFA is using on the Xbox (and all systems for that matter) is pretty decent; however it still needs a lot of work. The Infinity engine has been vastly improved since it was first introduced in FIFA 12, however we all still notice odd collisions and players will bend in ways that are not natural. I would only assume that having FIFA on the Xbox 720 would provide more opportunities for improving the engine and ball/shooting physics. Improved Online Gameplay FIFA on the Xbox 720 could mean some improved online game play. Some ways they could improve the online game play on for FIFA on the Xbox would be more options and improving matchups. Not to mention the Xbox 720 may come with some sort of improved Xbox live, which would be great. I’m honestly tired of being paired up with players and lagging all over the pitch. :) Improved capabilities online could mean a larger online community, and more online features. They could improve the head to head, as well as the ultimate team game modes and make them more expansive. Now don’t get me wrong, they are pretty in-depth as it is, but it could be improved upon. Just Some Of The Improvements I’m sure these are just some of the improvements we could see with FIFA on the Xbox 720. Even though we all would have to learn and get used to a new controller, a next generation system would definitely be a benefit to us. Completely without sounding any alarm, around 1 minutes to complete on the highest difficulty? With a little practice it’s actually possible.
First, you need to be four people. It might work with 3 that have done this often enough but it’ll be much more simple with four at an earlier level. The main objective is to get in, steal jewelry and get out with no cops showing up. You start by looking for the Jewelry store mission, on overkill. You can tell it’s on overkill if it has 3 yellow dots underneath the name of the mission. It’s a low profit mission so it will always show one white dot. You want all of your team to go inside the store. If there is a guard in there, have one with a silenced weapon ready to take him out as soon as masks goes on. Remember to answer the pager when you kill a security guard. When you mask on, have one team mate put down an ECM jammer. This will stop civilians from calling the cops right away. Then it’s time to smash and grab some jewels. Have two people inside going through the display cases and bagging the jewels, throwing them to the front of the store. On the outside, have two people running back and forth between the store and the escape car, throwing bags in the back and running back for more. You need a total of 8 bags and it should go pretty quickly. Those on the inside should focus on getting the “baggable” jewels and not the smaller single items just so those on the outside won’t have to stop and wait for bags. After a while you’ll get a sense of how much you can get away with but remember that you only need eight bags and then you’ll get a ton of experience for it. (see video below for an example of the run). This will work great up until you Play free games online and get around level 30 and then you might want to consider doing Nightclub on overkill, which I’ll write a little about later. |
